The daysailer 16 has been developed for the sailor wanting a boat that he can use comfortably for reaching our gulf islands and general coastal sailing. An advantage of her design is that, thanks to its light construction in coremat sandwich and isophtalic resin, it is easy to haul. In addition, the boat has light softwood interiors. Fittings include a performance rig with a furling gennaker (asymmetric spinnaker). The hull is a traditional lap strake clinker shaped with an easy retractable ballasted centerboard.
She can be built with different interiors and rig configurations such as a basic open daysailer or a daysailer and beachcamper with cuddy. She is ideal for exploring the gulf islands and remote beaches and, thanks to her performance rig, she can sail fast. The standard rig is Marconi which has been chosen for its ease of use in family sailing. She has a laminated mast and boom and can be brailed up out of the way in seconds.
