The AB 32 is an high performance ocean-going power catamaran with spacious, easy living
comfort at its best and with extraordinary fuel efficiency.
Successful design studio ‘Albatross Marine Design’ has developed our new design AB32
power cat as a budget coastal all round weekender, perfect for family or for running
small charter business
The result is an exceptional design, including large spaces and facilities normally only
found in larger and more expensive catamarans of 35-40 ft range. This power cat is stable
,reliable and is able to meet a wide variety of customer needs

The feature of the hull shape: it allows twin 75 until 250HP engines to be installed.
The boat’s hull is optimized for range of semi-planning speeds 17-34 kts but can be used
successfully at planning speeds. Measures have been taken to provide softness of ride
and inimization of wave/spray making – by increased deadrise in front half of bottom,
spray-rails and chine flats profile. The boat tested with twin FNM HPE 200
diesels with shaft drives makes easily 30 kts of speed at full load condition (version D
heavy weight finished and full optional boat) in a rough condition of sea with waves and
wind, demonstrated very good performance and comfort in seaway.

The central weight placement of engines, fuel and water to produce balanced movement
and avoid pitching, the boat cut waves without bumping, thanks also to the perfect
attention to design in length to beam ratios and minimum hull resistance to laminar-flow.All those factors contribute to the vessel's high quality sea keeping performance and
comfort with a neutral and natural balance and an exceptional fuel efficiency

This is a successful result of a detailed analysis of resistance-speed that has been performed using different
methods. Methods for monohulls known as Groot (semidisplacement) and Savitski (planning) were applied
adding hull interaction factors from Muler Graf and Doubrovski.
Methods of resistance prediction for catamarans developed by Molland (round bilge) and
Australian Maritime College (sharp chine) have been used.
An important feature of this design is the shallow draft of AB32 that enables operation in
shallow areas and makes picturesque islands and remote beaches easily accessible. The
boat can be beached during tide P-brackets are studied to protect the propellers, also
from fishing nets and floating debris
Some phase of the construction.
The interior is designed by Albatross in 4 different finishing versions all with light
materials, but finishing is not just basic luxury touch is added. Saloon can be in carpet
or teak floor and a variety of choose of wood essences from teak to light birch veneer,
with white or cream gelcoat and soft PVC panels on ceiling. Carpet or teak floor can be
used in cabins on ceiling, sides and bulkheads, with wooden trim where appropriate all
with an open bespoke building program with the customer.
The boat has saloon with L-shaped sofa, table and galley, 3 bedrooms with double beds
and hanging lockers, very spacious toilet/shower. Option with 2 cabins with 2
toilets/showers is also available but not recommended for the size of the vessel. Aft
cockpit is designed in single level enabling easy moving around. Spacious flybridge is
fitted with main steering station (available also double station with an extra helm on
salon), plenty of seating, sunbed, BBQ area. Engine rooms are separated from
accommodation spaces by watertight soundproof bulkheads. No engine under bunk
solution feature of most cats designed by Albatross, especially for tropics. Generator,
batteries and all machinery equipment as extra equipments could also placed in engine
rooms, plus storage for dive tanks.
Deck hatches, cabin and side windows with built-in opening Lewmar Flush portlights
provide light and efficient airflow for saloon and cabins.
Systems engineering includes plumbing with cold water (Hot water extra system
available) also for transom showers, deck wash system, bilge pumps, vents/blowers, LPG
supply to galley and flybridge available. Air-conditioning system delivering 24,000BTU it
could be an extra must have item for tropical climate.
In general the boat is designed to category C inshore of European RCD, compliance
with category B is possible.
